Peter Lewy 1.20.2011 - Make your reservation now for Peter Lewy's Sunday, March 27th cello workshop at The Wood and Stone Room: Peter has worked with 100s of artists including Lucy Kaplanski, Jaco Pastorius, Bucky Pizzarelli,  Nada Surf & Vasant Rai. His uses of the cello in popular genres have garnered him critical acclaim in the New York Times and Variety. He has also appeared as concerto soloist and principal cellist with many NY orchestras and performed solo recitals at many venues including Lincoln Center.  His workshop, "Setting the Cello Free" focuses on the skill sets neccesary to bring cello into the realms of music most often associated with less formal classical work, particularly those associated with working with contemporary singer/songwriters. The Wood and Stone Room began as our
'in home' recording studio; a place where we could make our own records & demos and sometimes record our friend's projects. Many years, and many good times later, we have decided to officially expand the studio into something that it has really already become on it's own - a community of independent artists and musicians. A place where we all feel comfortable coming up with crazy ideas, working hard, sharing resources and helping one another out.

This is a site for music fans to come see and hear favorite artists and find some new music to love.

It's also a site for musicians to sell their music and gain some additional exposure to new and existing fans.
